Welcome to the Lower East Section
The Spring meeting and annual golf tournament was hosted by the City of Maryville and sponsored by JR Wauford CO, Bio-Chem Industries, Chattachem, American Continental Tech Laboratories, Jet-Vac, and Cannon and Cannon.
The golf was held at Lambert Acres Golf Club with 11 teams signing up and 9 actually making it. A beautiful course with great weather made for a great time by all that played. Bar-Environmental, lead by Rick Pearson took First place while the Etowah team, lead by Mike Cheek were the first losers.
The meeting and presentation was held at Maryville Operations Center, Jon and Ken Brummett, of Bio-Chem Industries, spoke on Nutrient Removal, Odor Control and New Trends in Water Treatment earning 2 CEU's for any operators license. Vice Chair Craig Brymer conducted the meeting in Iisa Coffey's absence.
All that attend were treated to a delicous meal of meat loaf, grilled chicken, mashed potatoes, mac and cheese and rolls, topped off with banana pudding and/or peach cobbler, catered by Gracie's Home Cooking of Maryville.
Several topics of discussion were presented, from state exams and operator training recommendations to scholarship deadline extension (June 1st), state and local award forms being turned in by August and even the possibility of earlier meetings (to be discussed more).
With no other business the meeting was adjourned and door prizes were drawn with a good time had by all!!!
